With the relief effort of Hurricane Ike I have been sorely reminded how we need to have the right tools for the job. 40 people cannot do the work of 1 man and a good tractor. Muscle is no match for a truck and a tow rope. There are many situations in work, play, and life where we need to have the proper tools for the task at hand. Just look at today's golfers and golf courses. Improvements continually happend that provide us with better tools. This hold true for our spiritual life as well. We need to have the right training, the right tools, and the right people around us. There are so many new ways to study and learn about God's word and principles today that were not available to our parents. The internet, CDs, DVDs, BSF, etc. The list is enormous. Yet for many reasons we have not used those tools properly and we are less a Christian nation today then we were back then. That said makes the following scripture ring so very true
14:4 Where there are no oxen, the manger is empty, but from the strength of an ox comes an abundant harvest
We must invest in our businesses, in our hobbies, in our passions, and in our lives in order to reap a harvest. He who does not do these things will have an empty food bowl (manger). Is your bowl full or empty? Look at the different aspects of your life to see where you need investment. What types of investment do you need? Is it an investment in your finances, your businesses, your relationships, your kids, or your spiritual walk. We need to also make sure we are making the proper investment. Investing money into today's financial market is risky at best. Spending all day working in the yard when you have not invested time with your family would not be wise. Again the right tool for the right job at the right time
