Proverbs 7 - Most warnings about adultery
This is the 3rd chapter to spend significant discussion on adultery. It is evident that the author is trying to get a strong message across. Each discussion has gotten more dramatic, more visual, and louder. The author increases the tone, the cost, the far reaching consequences. Adultery and divorce have caused more damage in our society than any and all of our sins combined. The tearing apart of the fabric of the Christian life is like trying to separate 2 pieces of paper glued together. It cannot be done without there being some destruction to both pieces. Not only are the emotional consequences grave for the divorcees, but they are grave for our children, for the immediate families, for culture, and for our economy. Entire industries have been developed to support single parents, entire industries are built around the divorce process. I see the affects of divorce daily on my 2 kids and it makes me want to cry every time. Children are the innocent victims again.
