2:4-5 and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.
How many of us waste our time searching for the wrong things in life? How much better life will be if we search for God's wisdom and knowledge with the zeal that we search after the material things in life? Our culture pushes us to a different path and we are measured by the things we attain. But none of those things mean anything in God's eyes nor are they of any value in the afterlife. I want more than anything to leave a legacy for my children, something they can live by. The material things that I can give them mean nothing if I cannot teach them how to have a meaningful relationship with God. God promises to give us that relationship, that knowledge, if we seek after Him with all our hearts. God promises us in James 1:5 that if we lack wisdom and cry out to Him for it, He will give it to us without finding fault. The wisdom that He gives us protects us from evil and destruction. Though we cannot live a blameless life ourselves, we have a great intercessor in Jesus who lived blameless for us. Our responsibility is to leave our sins at the cross and we receive a blank slate everyday. What a great trade!
