Proverbs 2 -

Have you ever considered the complicated intricacies of the ear? There are many fascinating parts of the body but the eyes and ears have to be 2 of the most amazing. Basically all the parts of the hear work like a small set of drums or reeds. Sound waves wash over the tympanic membrane and the ossicles and are received by the cochlear nerve. The brain can then interpret those into words, sounds, etc. It is really pretty simple for us to understand today, but what about 100 years ago? Do you think they had any concept on how the ear works? What God created in the blink of an eye it has taken us millenia to understand and even begin to replicate.

2:1 My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you, 2 So that you incline your ear to wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding; 3 Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And lift up your voice for understanding, 4 If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; 5 Then you will understand the fear of the LORD, And find the knowledge of God.

When you listen intently to someone or something, you turn your head towards and lean towards the speaker. God is calling us to lean towards wisdom. He wants to be attune to it all the time. Desperately seeking and listening for Him. He wants us to seek after wisdom and understanding as Michael Phelps sought after gold medals. How many of us put that kind of effort into seeking wisdom? Into anything? I may start off good, but then somewhere along the line get derailed and end up back off track. I want God to give me a yearning for wisdom every day. I want to be conscious of every moment as an opportunity to seek and apply wisdom.
